LUXEMBOURG, LU; 26 March 2024 — Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is pleased to announce that we have been selected as sole advisor for the newly launched Nissay Foreign Equity Climate and Nature Transition Strategy Fund (“the fund”). This solution will be offered to institutional investors in Japan, with initial funding from Nippon Life Insurance Company and Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Co., Ltd.

The fund will leverage the experience, investment approach and risk management framework of NAM’s Global Climate Engagement Strategy, targeting companies in the earlier stages of transitioning towards sustainable business models. By pushing these companies to accelerate their green transition, this approach unlocks under-appreciated value potential and contributes to the reduction of real-world emissions.

“As a global ESG leader, we have been a longstanding proponent of climate and environment investing since 2008. We are proud to collaborate with Nissay Asset Management in order to make our climate 2.0 investing strategy accessible to Japanese investors.”

Nils Bolmstrand, CEO at NAM
NAM currently manages around 10bn EUR* in various climate solutions and is a founding member of Net Zero Asset Managers initiative. It has set a target to align the top-200 carbon emitting companies in its portfolios with the 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement by 2025.
