Luxembourg, LU, 17 Oct 2025 — Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is pleased to celebrate the 3-year anniversary of Nordea 1 – Emerging ex China Sustainable Stars Equity Fund (ISIN: BI USD – LU2528868263; BP USD LU2528868008).

Three years ago, NAM launched the Nordea 1 – Emerging ex China Sustainable Stars Equity Fund (the Fund) to offer targeted access to Emerging Markets outside of China. With China’s outsized weight in broader EM indices, this fund allows investors to manage their China allocation separately and position more actively within the rest of the EM universe. Since its launch in September 2022, the fund has consistently outperformed its benchmark1.

A member of NAMs Sustainable STARS family, launched more than a decade ago, the Fund integrates ESG factors to invest in companies with strong governance, social responsibility, and environmental performance. The “Sustainable” designation reflects the Fund’s adherence to high ESG standards and its pursuit of measurable ESG outcomes, including alignment with frameworks beyond ESMA—such as Paris-Aligned Benchmark exclusions.

“We invest where the world is changing fastest. Global structural shifts create powerful tailwinds, especially in Emerging Markets where their impact is often underappreciated. By embedding this perspective into our process, we aim to identify tomorrow’s winners early and generate sustainable alpha.*”

Pierre Henri Cloarec, Lead Portfolio Manager of Nordea 1 – Emerging ex China Sustainable Stars Equity Fund

The Fund recently welcomed Gina Kim as co-Portfolio Manager. She joined NAM a year ago as a Senior Equity Analyst, following 12 years at Schroder Investment Management Singapore as a fund manager for Asia ex Japan SMID Cap portfolios and an equity analyst for Asian markets. Kim holds a degree from the University of Cambridge and is based in NAM’s Singapore office.

With USD 272mn in AUM*, the Nordea 1 – Emerging ex China Sustainable Stars Fund is managed by Pierre-Henri Cloarec, Jakob Zierau and Gina Kim. The team currently manages three NAM Sustainable STARS Equity strategies (Emerging Sustainable Stars, Emerging ex China Sustainable Stars and Asian Sustainable Stars) representing around USD 2.2bn in AUM (as of 10.2025).
